Technical Data SheetAvailable SizesAsphalt Bleed BlockerBond It Asphalt Bleed Blocker is aone-part, high-solids, solvent-free bleed blocking primer that dries quickly, and creates a monolithic barrier when preparing asphalt and bitumen surfaces as part of a Bond It Roof Seal system.Product UseThe high-solids acrylic polymer formula blocks surface staining from asphaltic surfaces. Bond It Asphalt Bleed Blocker is breathable and flexible when cured, and oers exceptional adhesion to asphaltic surfaces. Color is a light blue to ensure uniform coverage even in bright daylight conditions.Application / InstructionsMix well before use. Ambient tempera-ture during application of primer must be above 40°F (5°C), with relative humidity below 80% and no forecasted rain for at least 48 hours. Base coat should be a minimum of 16 wet mils (1.0 gal per 100 sq-ft) and should be completely dry prior to installation of a second coat or top coat. In cold weather, it may take up to 48 hours for Asphalt Bleed Blocker to fully cure. Product will cure to a light blue.Surface texture and wind may aect cured mil thickness. Asphalt Bleed Blocker should not be left exposed without a top coat for longer than 7 days.If a second coat is required, this should only be applied after first coat has fully cured. It is essential that asphaltic surfaces are fully and completely coated with Asphalt Bleed Blocker. FX-BLEED Asphalt Bleed Blocker | Technical Data SheetSurface PreparationFor best results, surface to be coated should be structurally sound, dry, clean, free of dust, oils, loose granules, gravel, peeling coating, other foreign matter, and structurally sound. Organic growth should be treated with a diluted bleach solution or solvent and rinsed thoroughly. Patch and repair cracks or holes with Edge Seal or Mastic as needed, and ensure all fasteners, fixtures and vents are properly installed. All necessary precautions should be taken to avoid damage to the underlying roof substrate.LimitationsTo prevent degradation and ensure proper adhesion, Asphalt Bleed Blocker must be top-coated within 7 days with the appropriate Bond It Roof Seal product. It is essential that asphaltic surfaces are fully and completely coated with Asphalt Bleed Blocker. Any gaps in coverage can lead to product failure. Do not use with expansion joints or for installations where the joints are continually immersed in water. Note: not suitable for use on LSE plastics such as PE, PP and PTFE. Application is not recommended if rain or dew is likely before product is fully cured. Customer must evaluate and make a determination of suitability and fitness of use in their particular application. Storage & Shelf LifeStore in original, unopened container, in a cool, dry place at a temperature between 40-86°F. Use within 12 months of date of manufacture. After opening, ensure containers are tightly sealed when not in use. Prevent from freezing.CleanupClean brushes or rollers with soap and water before the material has a chance to harden. Product is water based.DisposalDo not leave empty containers where residue could be harmful to children, animals or the environment. Remove any containers to a central disposal point in accordance with local regulations.SafetyKEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear skin and eye protection. In case of contact with eyes, flush eyes with water. Wash hands thoroughly after use. For emergencies, contact your local poison center.
